Marjorie Porter, 79, of Monroe died of a heart ailment Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home, with burial at Silent City Cemetery.
Mrs. Porter was born in Monroe and had lived in Des Moines most of her life, returning to Monroe 15 years ago. She was a retired clerk for Meredith Corp. and had also worked at the Des Moines Club.
Survivors include her husband, Roy; two stepsons, John of Des Moines and Robert of Grand Island, Neb.; and four step-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Emergency Unit.
