Life Story of Mrs. John Phifer
Mrs. John (Lizzie) Phifer, 75, longtime resident of Monroe, died Thursday evening at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Centerville.
Surviving are two sons, Earl and Dale, both of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Kane of Monroe and Mrs. Vern (Coleen) Mott of Centerville; 14 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Mrs. Phifer was a member of the Baptist Church in Monroe and the Monroe Women’s Relief Corps.
The daughter of Frank and Sarah Dailey, she was born June 27, 1894, in Marion County.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Monroe Baptist church with the Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating
Pallbearers were Francis Van Dusseldorp, Archie Bowans, Ed Beyers, Chester Marshall, Francis Pulver and Harold Efnor.
Organ music was provided by Mrs. Wayne Anderson, Mrs. Lita Bell Van Dusseldorp and Mrs. Rachel Mick were in charge of flowers.
Burial was in Silent City Cemetery, Monroe.
