Services Held
Memorial services for Ruth Perkey were held December 15, 1999, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Pella. Rev. Lynn Elrod of Ames officiated the services. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
Ruth Perkey, 81, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Knoxville and Otley areas passed away December 1, 1999, at the St. Joseph’s Carondelet Hospital of heart failure.
Ruth was born in Cordova, Iowa, on March 24, 1918 the daughter of Ralph M. and Ethel Mar (De Moss) Hart. She was married March 26, 1937, to Charles L. Perkey at Knoxville. She spent most of her life in the Otley and Knoxville areas. For the past three years she has lived in Tucson, Arizona. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of the Catalina Baptist Church in Tucson, Arizona.
Survivors are her husband, Charles L. Perkey, of Tucson, Arizona; 1 daughter, Charlotte N. McGill of Tucson, Arizona; 1 son, Arlyn W. Perkey of Morgantown, West Virginia; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Madge Stanton of Mesa, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
