Life Story of George Pendroy
Funeral services for George Harold Pendroy, 70, Rt. 1, Monroe, a lifelong resident of the Monroe area, were held Thursday, July 27, 1972, at the Christian Church in Prairie City. Mr. Pendroy died July 25 at Monroe.
The Rev. George Civey, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Mrs. William Lewis was soloist and was accompanied by Mrs. John LeGrand.
Casket bearers were Robert and Paul Colyn, Conrad Garland, Leo Mullins, Philip and Paul Pendroy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, his son Harold, Jr. in 1947 and one grandson.
Survivors are his wife, Emma; a son, Marvin E. of Monroe; a daughter, Marlene Pendroy of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Mayfield of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Helen Miller of Des Moines; two brothers, James of Monroe and Ralph of Monroe and four grandchildren.
The son of Earl and Catherine McNeish Pendroy, he was born April 17, 1902 near Monroe.
He was married to Emma M. Birkenholtz October 26, 1921 at Newton.
