E. S. Pendroy, 85, Dies Saturday; Services Tuesday
Monroe – Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 o’clock, from the Crumpacker Funeral Home for Earley S. Pendroy, who passed away at his home northwest of Monroe, at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. The Rev. George Pennington of the Methodist church will officiate.
Mr. Pendroy, son of the late Eli and Eliza Grubb Pendroy, was born Dec. 23, 1861, in Marion County, Ia. He would have been 85 years old today.
Although in failing health for a number of years, he was confined to his bed only a short time before his death. He had spent most of his life in this community, where he had farmed as long as his health permitted.
On Dec. 5, 1900, he was united in marriage to Catherine McNeish, who survives him. Survivors besides his widow are: five sons, Harold, James, Mark and Ralph, all of Monroe; Claude of Melbourne; and two daughters, Helen of Des Moines and Mrs. (Ruth) Al Mayfield of Fayetteville, N.C.; also four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mel Rinehart, and a brother, Edgar Pendroy, both of Monroe.
One son, Carroll, died in infancy.
