Services Held
Services for Mae E. Pendroy were held Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Rev. William Lemosy officiated the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Mae passed away June 15, 2002, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Born April 17, 1922 in Jasper County, Mae was the daughter of Zeph and Phoebe (Hoy) Taylor. She graduated from Mingo High School in 1940. She married Dale A. Pendroy August 30, 1942, in Lancaster, Missouri. She was a member of the Monroe Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed her grandchildren, garage sales, traveling, and reading.
She is survived by four sons, James Dale (Natalie) Pendroy of Monroe, Jack Lee (Tink) Pendroy of Gardner, Kansas, Richard Dean (Patricia Ann) Pendroy of Monroe, and Donald Ray (Ann) Pendroy of Denver, Colorado; two daughters, Diane Marie (Sid) Vander Ploeg of Ankeny, Janet Sue (Steve) Bacus of Knoxville; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1987; and three brothers, James, John and Bill.
The family has suggested memorials go to the Monroe Public Library, Presbyterian Church, or Clearview Manor.
