Services Held
Alta Baker Pendroy, 91, of Monroe died Monday, September 14, 1992, at the Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Jim Olson, pastor of the Zoar Church, north of Newton, conducted services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials to the Monroe Fire and Emergency Units will be accepted.
Survivors are three sons, Burton Simbro of Monroe, Eugene Simbro of Knoxville and Raymond Simbro of Pella; a daughter, Arlene Hicks of Newton; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude; a son, Leroy; a daughter, Viola Dietrick; two brothers; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was a member of the New Rebekah Lodge.
The daughter of Lee and Baker, she was born August 10, 1901.
She was married to Charlie Simbro in 1917 and later to Claude Pendroy.
