Services Held
Services for Kenneth F. Peery of Prairie City were held Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Pastor Alvern Kinrade officiated the services. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.
Born December 24, 1929, in Newton, Kenneth was the son of Henry P. and Grace (Tool) Peery. He was a 1948 graduate of Newton High School. Kenneth was a farmer and mechanic. He had been in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Newton, Newton American Legion, and Galesburg Christian Church.
Survivors are one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Pearl Peery of Monroe; one sister, Edith (Peery) Slegh of Prairie City; 2 nephews and spouses, Darrell and Patti Peery of Monroe and Larry and Wendy Slegh of Grimes; and 1 niece, Carol Slegh of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
