Nadine Ellen Newell Patterson, 89, of Monroe, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Wednesday, September 29, 1993, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Graveside rites were held Sunday at the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Marge and Fred Nelson of Newton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eliza Krohn of Prairie City; and a half-sister, Marie Danley of Prairie City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William S., a brother, and a sister.
Mrs. Patterson, an Avon sales person for 35 years, taught in the Warren Grove School in Jasper County and later managed the family farm for many years.
The daughter of Thomas and Andreka Van Dusseldorp Newell, she was born February 15, 1904 in rural Monroe. She was a graduate of Prairie City Community High School and the Des Moines Normal College.
She was married to William S. Patterson March 10, 1925 in Prairie City.
