Life Story of Glen Parrish
Funeral services for Glen Parrish, 54, of 2202 S. 5th Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1956, were held Friday at the Community Heights Alliance Church.
The Rev. Ian Hoover, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Mr. Parrish, who resided in Oskaloosa before moving to Newton, died Wednesday morning at his home after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Survivors are his wife, Jean, two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Kathy) Ratcliff of Newton and Mrs. Steve (Sandra) Patterson of Reasnor, seven grandchildren and his mother, Mrs. Edna Parrish of Russell. Also surviving are two brothers, Wayne Parrish and Dale Parrish, both of Russell, and two sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Pauline) Stevens of Knoxville and Mrs. Delbert (Coleen) Seamen of Albia.
He was preceded in death by his father, a grandson, a sister and a brother in infancy.
The son of William and Edna Meyers Parrish, he was born Dec. 20, 1923 at Lacona.
He was married to Jean Bonnett Jan. 28, 1945 in Chariton.
Mr. Parrish owned and operated Glen’s Conoco Service Station.
Mr. Parrish was a member of the Moose Lodge.
