Life Story of Mrs. Mel Park
Mrs. Mel (Alma Blanch) Park, 58, a resident of Newton for 22 years, died Monday at Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Toland-Wallace Funeral Home. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Alan (Linda) Rundall of Cedar Falls; a grandson, Todd Rundall of Cedar Falls; six brothers, Asa Marshall of Knoxville; George Marshall of San Antonio, Tex., Harold Marshall of Waukesha, Wis., John Marshall of Pewaukee, Wis., Elmer Marshall of Knoxville and Floyd Marshall of Minburn; and four sisters, Mrs. John (Ruby) Slykhuis of Monroe, Mrs. Morris (Esther) Pearson of Monroe, Mrs. John (Geraldine) Quinn of Des Moines and Mrs. Melvin (Mary Lou) Bissinger of Prairie City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dwight Marshall, of Knoxville.
Mrs. Park was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Knoxville.
The daughter of Jesse B. and Nora Christensen Marshall, she was born October 25, 1914, in Tennessee.
She was married April 6, 1943, at Pleasantville.
