Life Story of Mabel Parish
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 25 at the United Methodist Church at Killduff for Mrs. Alfred (Mabel) Parish, 65.
Rev. Glenn Emmert officiated with interment at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jasper County, Iowa.
Mabel, Mrs. Alfred L. Parish, passed away at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton on October 22, at the age of sixty-five years, five months and twenty-seven days.
Mabel was born in Mahaska County, Iowa, on April 25th, 1912, the daughter of Albert and Gora (Vos) Verwers. On Dec. 31, 1937, at Killduff, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Alfred Lyle Parish.
Mrs. Parish is survived by her husband and three children: Ronald D. Parish of Monroe; Mrs. Beverly Lyons of Killduff; and Marilyn, Mrs. John Pherigo of Newton. Seven grandchildren also survive her along with one brother, Andrew Verwers of Killduff and one sister, Gladys, Mrs. John Van Veen of Monroe.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Hazel Verwers.
Mrs. Parish lived her entire lifetime in Mahaska and Jasper Counties. She was a member of the Killduff United Methodist Church, also a member of the Richland Grange.
