Life Story of William Quick
Funeral services were held Monday, May 15th at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Monroe for William (Bill) Quick. Rev. Roy Cupples officiated with interment in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
William (Bill) Quick passed away at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton on Friday, May 12th at the age of ninety years, six months and twenty-five days.
William was born in the Netherlands on October 17, 1887. He served in the Dutch Army before coming to the United States in 1919 and has lived in the Jasper County area since that time.
He was united in marriage to Syke (Sarah) Werner on Feb. 26, 1919, just before coming to America.
Mr. Quick is survived by one brother living in the Netherlands and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, who died on Sept. 13, 1972; one brother, Walter Quick; one sister, Mary, Mrs. Hein Brouwer and also six other brothers and sisters of the Netherlands.
