Services Held
Services for Thomas M. Owens, 69, of Colfax, were held Friday, February 11, 2000, at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Rev. Jill Flyer officiated the services. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
Thomas passed away at Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines.
Born November 10, 1930, in Mitchellville, Thomas was the son of Charles Arthur and Mary Helen (McNeer) Owens. He married Betty Ayres January 16, 1954 in Valeria. Thomas was a truck driver for Van Dusseldorp Sand and Gravel and retired in 1993.
Survivors are his wife, Betty; one son, Thomas J. Owens II and his wife, Barb, of Colfax; two daughters, Cindy Cooper and husband, Michael and Vicki Rector and husband, Terry, both of Colfax; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Robert Owens of Colfax; two sisters, Barb Jarnagin of Des Moines, and Virginia Wood of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 2 brothers.
