Services Held
Services for Terry T. Owens were held Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Gateway Recreation Golf Course in Monroe. Services were officiated by Rev. Michael Kuhn of Pella. The body was cremated.
Terry passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at Pella Regional Hospital in Pella from injuries as a result of an auto accident.
Born March 1, 1940, in Colfax, Terry was the son of Edris “Soapy” and Thelma May Wicks Owens. He was a 1958 graduate of Newton High School. He also graduated from Northwest Missouri State and received his Master Degree from there also. Terry was a teacher at PCM community Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He has also been the Golf Course Superintendent at the Gateway Recreation Golf Course in Monroe for 30 years.
Terry Owens married Jolene K. Zickel January 1, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has lived in Pella for the last eight years and had lived in Monroe for 23 years prior to moving to Pella.
Survivors are his wife, Jolene (Jo) Owens of Pella; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Owens of Denver, Colorado; two daughters and son-in-law, Tami and Arland Lamb of Pella, Steph Langstraat of Pella; and 4 grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Roger Owens of Des Moines; 2 sisters, Nancy Shanks of Clearwater, Florida, and Linda Gifford of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials to the Terry Owens Gateway Memorial Fund may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton or at Gateway.
