Services Held
Funeral services were held for Everett H. Miller at the Monroe United Methodist Church on August 28, 1985. Elder Arthur Nicols officiated with interment in the Vandalia Cemetery in Prairie City, Iowa.
Everett H. Miller, age 70, passed away August 26, 1985 at his home near Monroe. He was born on November 24, 1914 in Polk County, Iowa, the son of Lowman and Cora Fleming Miller.
On Sept. 2, 1943, he was united in marriage to Ila Colyn at Princeton, Missouri. A longtime area resident, Mr. Miller was a farmer all of his life.
Surviving are his wife, Ila, 5 sons, Dwight of Fremont, Iowa; Dwain of Oskaloosa David of Monroe; Dick of New Boston, New Hampshire; and Dennis of Oskaloosa; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dean (Dorothy) Allison of Ankeny, Mrs. Dan (Debbie) Spurgeon of Ottumwa and Darlene of Ames. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Lawrence of Hutchinson, Kansas, Kenneth and Cecil of Runnells, 2 sisters, Mrs. Anna Parrott of DeWitt and Mrs. Leland (Dorothy) Tratchel of Killduff. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
