Dies Recently
Daryl Berton “Porky” Mick, 59, of Newton, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 1989, at the Americana Health Center at Waterloo.
Mr. Mick has been cremated. Burial at Hewitt Cemetery will be held at a date convenient to the family.
Survivors are a son, Michael of Des Moines; two daughters, Trudy Willey and Marcy Maples, both of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Sue Hill of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.
Also surviving are his mother, Ethel Wilson Spain of Newton; a brother, Dwight of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Lyla Williams of Fairfax.
He was preceded in death by his father, a son, David, a brother, Wendell and a sister, Mary.
The son of Lyle M. and Ethel Wilson Mick, he was born Oct. 17, 1930 in rural Jasper County and was a 1948 graduate of Monroe Community High School.

Graveside Rites Scheduled
Memorial graveside services for Daryl Mick, a former Monroe resident, will be held at 1:30 on Monday, May 21st at Hewitt Cemetery near Galesburg, Iowa. Cremation had followed Mr. Mick’s death on December 23, 1989 at Waterloo.
