Services Held
Kay E. McGregor Merten, 42, of Reasnor, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died of cancer Tuesday, December 10, 1991, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Fr4iday at the Newton First United Methodist Church.
Burial was in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband, Richard; two sons, Eric and Chris, both at home; and her parents, Willard and Faye McGregor of Reasnor.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Mrs. Merten was a member of the Reasnor United Methodist Church, and attended the Newton First United Methodist Church.
She was a psychiatric technician and rehabilitation assistant at Skiff Medical Center and at the Jasper County Care Facility southeast of Newton for the past seven years.
The daughter of Willard and Faye Poortinga McGregor, she was born May 13, 1949, at Newton and was a 1967 graduate of Monroe Community High School.
She was married to Richard Merten February 14, 1975 in Newton.
