Services Held
Ruth Lucille De Hoot Mercer, 76, of Rt. 1, Reasnor, a longtime Reasnor area resident, died Monday evening, July 27, 1992, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines of complications of heart surgery.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. John Moorlach, pastor of the Reasnor United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Hewitt Cemetery near Reasnor.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Reasnor United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are a number of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, husband, Bernard, in 1989 and a son in infancy.
The daughter of Garrett and Cora Nolin De Hoot, she was born Oct. 13, 1915 in Newton.
She was married to Bernard Mercer Sept. 7, 1950 in Minnesota.
