Mrs. Simon Sager Dies on Saturday; Services Tuesday
COLFAX – Mrs. Simon (Sarah Mary) Sager, 69, a resident of Colfax for the past 30 years and a longtime resident of Jasper County, died Saturday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Anthony Pettrone, minister of the Colfax Christian Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Ashton Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Wickett of Colfax and Mrs. Violet Gulling of Colfax and Mrs. Pansy Dobson of Mingo; a son, James of Mingo; four sisters, Mrs. Arminda Smith of Colfax, Mrs. Jessie Smith of Colfax, Mrs. Belva Ingersol of Willington, Calif., and Mrs. Blanche Skaggs of Ira; three brothers, Roy Teed of Colfax, Orval Teed of Colfax and Harvey Teed of Searsboro; 21 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Christian Ashton Chapel Church.
The daughter of Squire and Eldie Neal Teed, she was born Sept. 21, 1897 at Collins and resided most of her life in Jasper County.
She was married to Simon Thomas Sager June 15, 1918 at Newton.
