Funeral services for Howard McDaniel, 82, were held Wednesday, August 21, 1985, at 2 p.m. at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.

Services Held
Funeral services for Howard McDaniel, 82, a lifelong resident of the Monroe Community, were held August 21, 1985 at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Elder Arthur Nichols of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Mr. McDaniel was found dead on his farm in Marion County Monday.
Survivors are a brother, Sam McDaniel of California; and three sisters, Ethel Carter of Des Moines, Macy Wright of Knoxville, and Olive Robson of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
Mr. McDaniel, a retired employee of the Iowa Power and Light Co., was a member of the Iowa Nut Growers Association. He had done extensive grafting and hybridization of walnuts and other nuts.
