Services Held
Dale E. McDaniel, 78, a resident of Newton for 75 years, died Saturday afternoon, November 4, 1995, at the Skiff Medical Center of a heart condition.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Reese Chapel.
The Rev. Frederick Kramer, Skiff Medical Center chaplain, conducted services.
Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery. A military flag presentation was presented by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1655 of Newton.
Memorials to the American Heart Association will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth; two sisters, Helen (Mrs. Charles) Long and Betty (Mrs. Paul) White, both of Newton; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Pete.
Mr. McDaniel, who served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He had been a sheet metal worker at the Maytag Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1982.
The son of Edward and Myrtle Parker McDaniel, he was born December 1, 1916, in Monroe and was a 1937 graduate of Newton Community High School.
He was married to Elizabeth Molloy July 2, 1949, in Atlantic.
