Services Held
Services for Blanch E. McDaniel, 93, were Wednesday, December 18, 1991 at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth MacLeod of the Knoxville Presbyterian Church and Rev. Tom Bass of the Presbyterian Church in Monroe officiated at the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Born January 25, 1898, the daughter of Peter and Jane Jarnigan Birkenholz near Monroe, Blanch was a longtime Monroe resident and lived in Clarence, Iowa for 5 years. For the past two years, she had resided in Knoxville. She was married to Floyd McDaniel on April 15, 1919. Blanch passed away December 16, 1991, at the Griffin Nursing Home in Knoxville, Iowa. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years.
Survivors are a daughter Marvel (Mrs. Lawrence) Wilson of Monroe; daughter-in-law, Beulah McDaniel of Clarence, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons – Mason and Ray, one infant grandchild, one brother, one sister, three half brother, and one half sister.
Memorials will go to the Monroe Emergency Fund.
