Runnells – Jeff Clifford McDanel, 41, of Runnells died Tuesday of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 30 near Marshalltown. Services were held Friday at Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville and burial was at Main Station Cemetery in Rathbun. Mr. McDanel was born in Centerville and worked for Allied Construction in Des Moines. He was a Moravia Little League baseball coach, a former state corn-husking champion, and finished second in the 1996 National Corn Husking Contest.
Surviving are his wife, Julie; a daughter, Amanda McDanel, and a son, Bryan, both of Monroe; his parents, Clell and Pat McDanel of Moravia; three sisters, Julia VanLaar of Grand River, Jillette Allen of Centerville and Joica Campbell of Cary, Ill.; and two brothers, Jody of Centerville and Jan of Moravia.
