McConeghey, Mabel Margaret Fennema – 1899-1969

Mrs. Glenn (Mabel Margaret) McConeghey of Monroe passed away suddenly at the Pella Community Hospital at the age of 69 years, six months, and 14 days. She spent her lifetime in the Monroe area with the exception of 2 ˝ years spent in Pella. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe.
Mabel was born in Otley on November 20, 1899, the daughter of Chester and Jennie Kaldenberg Fennema. On July 16, 1918, at Monroe, she married Glenn McConeghey, who survives her. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Dolores) Ammer of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Harold (Donna) Heyveld of Monroe, six grandchildren; two brothers, Herman Fennema of Mount Ayr, and Carl Fennema of Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Crane of Des Moines, Mrs. Roy (Jessie) Van Derwaal of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and Helen Fennema of Thomasville, Ga.
Mrs. McConeghey was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church of Monroe on Saturday, June 7. Rev. Wayne K. Anderson officiated with the assistance of Rev. James Poulsen.
Mrs. Devayne Honnold accompanied Mrs. Wayne K. Anderson who sang “No Longer Lonely” and “No Night There.”
Casket bearers were Devayne Honnold, Robert Beesley, Delmar Currier, John Van Ryswyk, Forrest Nearmyer and Willis Van Wyk.
Mrs. Truman Thompson and Mrs. John Van Ryswyk assisted with the flowers.
Interment was in the Silent City Cemetery of Monroe.
