Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 30, 1985, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe for Margaret McComas. Rev. Harold Den Hartog, pastor of the Metz Community Church officiated. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Margaret Myrtle McComas died January 28, 1985, at the Embassy Manor in Newton at the age of 83 years. She was born at Monroe on July 10, 1901, the daughter of U. F. and Sarah Kingrey McDaniel. She was united in marriage to Lafay McComas on July 8, 1921.
Mrs. McComas is survived by her son, Dale of Monroe, 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Howard McDaniel of Monroe, Sam McDaniel of San Jose, Calif., and 3 sisters, Macy Wright of Knoxville, Ethel Carter of Des Moines. Olive Robison of Newton. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, 2 sisters, 5 brothers.
