Services Held
Wilbur McBride, 81, of Oskaloosa, a former resident of Jasper County, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1986 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday Oct. 13 at the Garland-Van Arkel Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
Burial was in the Wittemberg Cemetery, north of Newton.
Survivors are a daughter, Mary L. Schroeder of Fort Collins, Colo.; three grandchildren; a brother, Wayne McBride of Newton; and two sisters, Katharine Gerbracht of Seattle, Wash., and Margaret Longnecker of Fort Morgan, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, his parents and a brother, Dale.
The son of William L. and Laura Lillian Perry McBride, he was born Aug. 7, 1905, in Reasnor.
He was married to Esther Scott March 22, 1931 in Jasper County.
