Services Held
James McCall, 63, of Des Moines, a native and former resident of Baxter, died Saturday, February 9, 1991, at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Memorial services were held Tuesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The Rev. Jerry McGee, pastor of the Monroe United Methodist Church conducted services. Cremation was held.
Survivors are his wife, JoAnn; a daughter, Mary McCall of Bellevue, Neb.; and five stepchildren, Marla Schrock of Monroe, Lori Johnson of Des Moines, Delmar Johnson, Jr. of Monroe, Ron Johnson of Tim Brook Pines, Fla., and Brad Johnson of Monroe.
Also surviving are a brother, Kenneth of San Antonio, Texas, and two sisters, Willa Parsons of Bellevue, Fla., and Donna Riccio of Derby, Conn., several grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
The son of John Otto and Bertha Rhoades McCall, he was born June 4, 1927 in Baxter.
He was married to Mary Ann Stiles and later to JoAnn Farver.
Mr. McCall, a resident of Des Moines for the past 11 years, also had resided in the Mason City area.
Mr. McCall was a farmer.
