Timothy Martin, 71, formerly of Monroe passed away on January 6, 2009, at Taylor House Hospice. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Brooks Funeral Care-Tonini Chapel. Burial took place Monday, January 12, 2009, at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
Tim was a 1955 graduate of Monroe High School.
Tim was retired but worked for Data Input Services as a delivery driver. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. He loved to garden and to take care of his yard. He also enjoyed watching football, fishing and traveling.
Survivors are his wife of 15 years, Nancy; children Clint Martin of Monroe; Lori Leporte (John) of Des Moines; Josh and Joy Martin of Des Moines; stepchildren, Donna, Max, and Christa. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Daphanie Chirch of Indianola, Monica Martin of San Antonio, Texas, Justin Martin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Joseph Leporte of Des Moines. He had two great grandchildren, Chloe and Ethan Chirch of Indianola and one step great grandchild. He also leaves his sister, Alice (Andrew) Ayers from Wheaton, Illinois, and his niece Nancy, nephews Andy, and Tim and families also from the surrounding Chicago area.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Delta and Virgil Martin and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
