Gladys Ruth Marshall, 76, of Rt. 1, Monroe, a longtime Monroe resident, died Monday evening, April 17 at Clearview Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at the Monroe First Baptist Church. The Rev. John Adams, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery at Monroe. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe handled arrangements.
Memorials to the First Baptist Church are being accepted.
Survivors are a son, Harlan of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. John (Mary) Stravers of Monroe, five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Kent of Webster City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1976, parents, a son, Larry, and a brother.
Mrs. Marshall was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
The daughter of John and Amanda Kingery Clevenger, she was born March 10, 1913 in Sioux City. She was a 1930 graduate of Monroe Community High School.
She was married to Charles Marshall October 23, 1934.

Funeral services were held April 20, 1989 at the Monroe First Baptist.
Gladys Ruth Marshall passed away on Monday afternoon April 17, 1989 at the Clearview Manor in Prairie City. She was born at Sioux City on March 10, 1913, the daughter of John and Amanda Kingery Clevenger. She was united in marriage to Chester Marshall on October 29, 1930.
She is survived by her son, Harlan, a daughter Mary (Mrs. John) Stravers and a daughter-in-law Darlene Marshall all of Monroe. Also surviving are a sister Dorothy Kent, Webster City, a sister-in-law Edith Nee of Colorado Springs, Colo., 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
