G. F. Marshall Died Wednesday
George Forysthe Marshall, oldest son of Robert D. and Mary Forysthe Marshall was born near Glasgow, Scotland, June 15, 1856 and departed this life, Nov. 6, 1940 at the age of 82 years, 4 months and twenty-one days.
He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of 8 years and spent his entire life in Jasper County in the Tool’s Chapel neighborhood.
He was united in marriage to Ulissia A. Tool March 3, 1883. To this union eight children were born two of whom preceded him in death, Ada Rosamand and Winifred Beamer.
He is survived by his wife and six children, Florence Hasselman of Pella, Beatrice Balmer of Knoxville, Frances Sheeler of Otley, James R. and Hubert of Monroe, Geneva Beamer of Torrington, Wyoming, sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
One brother W. J. Marshall of Monroe and two sisters, Robena Nolin of Monroe and Mary Smith of Newton.
