John Oliver Malmanger, 64, passed away at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House on March 14, 2006. He was born on June 28, 1941 to Oliver and Doris Malmanger. Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, March 17, 2006 at Lutheran Church of The Cross, 1701-8th Street SW, in Altoona, with interment at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
John previously lived in Progress Group Home in Newton, participating in the Progress Industries work program. He was a current resident of one of the Mosaic group homes in Des Moines. He was a former member of Central Lutheran Church, and a current member of Lutheran Church of the Cross.
John is survived by his loving sisters, Carin (John) Allhiser of Wisconsin and Eileen (Jim) Faux of Mingo. He also leaves three nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Mosaic Group Home.
