Life Story of Mrs. Cora Magg
Mrs. George (Cora Ethel) Magg, 92, of Prairie City, a longtime resident of Prairie City, died Saturday morning at her home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Prairie City United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Leonard Root, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Survivors are a son, Paul of Mingo; a daughter, Mrs. Rex (Daisy May) Simpson of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Lovett of Prairie City and Mrs. Harold L. Whitaker of Mitchellville; and three brothers, James W. Walker of Des Moines and Clarence Walker of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband March 22, 1950.
Mrs. Magg was a member of the United Methodist Church and a 54-year member of the Excelsior Rebekah Lodge of Prairie City.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Walker, she was born October 25, 1879, in Pottawattamie County.
She was married April 22, 1892.
