Services Held for B. Maddy
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Monroe United Methodist Church for Mrs. Delno (Betty Jean) Maddy. The Rev. Otto Steele, Jr., pastor of the church, conducted the services with burial in Olive Cemetery south of Knoxville.
Mrs. Maddy died Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are her husband; two sons, Frank E. of Normal, Ill., and Richard of Bremerton, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Dwain (Roxanne Sue) Miller of Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Jen Etta King of Oskaloosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Maddy was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star at Newton.
Mrs. Maddy was a bookkeeper for Des Moines Supply Co.
The daughter of Ira O. and Susie Coward Frye, she was born March 16, 1922 in Beacon.
She attended Bussey schools.
She was married September 14, 1941 at the Olive Chapel Methodist Church south of Knoxville. They resided in the Olive Chapel area until 1944 and in Pleasantville until moving to Monroe in 1964.
