Funeral services for Vivian Joy Emmack Machin were held Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Interment was immediately following the funeral service on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Sugar Grove Cemetery in rural Newton.
Vivian Machin passed away July 26, 2006.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Jasper County. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
She was born July 26, 1921. Joy was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She graduated from Prairie City High School in Prairie City, Iowa. Joy loved traveling, having coffee with friends, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors are her husband, Walter of Newton; son, Delmar L. (Mary) Emmack of Colfax, Iowa; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 step-sons, Richard “Dick” (Darlene) Machin of Newton, Lloyd (Diane) Machin of Newton; and Dennis Machin of Kellogg, Iowa; 2 step-daughters, Marie Hoffman of Newton, and Lucinda (Tom) Hollingshead of Ogden, Iowa; 14 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren.
