Life Story of George Lust
George L. Lust, 88, of Mitchellville, lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Saturday evening at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon at the Altoona Regular Baptist Church with Rev. Eldon Weaver, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in Mitchellville Cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, Bessie; a son, Edwin of Mitchellville; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Johnson of Monroe, Mrs. Elsie Anderson, Mrs. Helen Lincoln and Mrs. Maxine Smith, all of Mitchellville; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Maynard of Kellogg.
A retired farmer, Mr. Lust was employed as a salesman for Lester Pfister at the time of his death.
He was born June 4, 1882 in the Monroe area.
He was married to Bessie North in 1905.
