Rites Today for Mrs. Livingston
Funeral services were held today at the Crumpacker Funeral Home for Mrs. R. W. Livingston, who died Tuesday after less than three weeks of serious illness. The Rev. Russell Nye was in charge of the services.
She had been a patient at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines after suffering a stroke. A heart attack caused her death.
Jessie K. Livingston was born June 10, 1875, near Philadelphia, Pa., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kent. She came to Monroe at the age of 12. She had been a member of the Baptist church since she was 15.
She was married in Monroe February 15, 1899 to Russell Livingston and for the succeeding 53 years lived on the family farm about one mile southwest of Monroe. She and her husband moved into Monroe last fall.
Aside from her husband, she is survived by a son, Donald, his wife and two children, Mary Catherine and John Spencer.
The mourners also include many life-long friends who knew and loved Jessie Livingston as a very fine person long to be remembered by the Monroe community.
