Mitchellville – James C. Livingston, 63, died Friday, December 9, 2005, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Monroe, of which he was a member. Burial will take place at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Livingston, will take place also at the church on Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church, Mitchellville Christian Church or Iowa Health Hospice.
The son of William McClair Livingston and Verda Janice (Worth) Livingston, Jim was born on August 21, 1942, in Monroe. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1960. On March 6, 1965 he was united in marriage to Joyce Brown in Newton. With this marriage he was honored to have two daughters. Jim worked as an accountant until his retirement in 2003. Jim enjoyed collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia, camping, bluegrass music and spending time with his many friends and family.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Joyce of 40 years; daughters, Connie Jo Wyatt and her husband Bobby of Pinellas Park, Florida and Robbie Joy Hay and her husband David of Mitchellville; and seven grandsons. Jim is also survived by a brother, William K. (Marcia) Livingston of Buckingham, Iowa; and a sister, Janine K. (Ray) Hasselman of Monroe. Preceding Jim in death were his parents, mother-in-law, a sister-in-law, and several aunts and uncles.
