Life Story of Malyn Lester
Funeral services were held Monday at the Christian Church in Colfax for Malyn A. Lester, 36, of Colfax.
The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Dennis, 14; and Andrew, 11; a daughter, Lola, 13; a sister, Mrs. H. A. (Judith) Thomas of Colfax; three brothers, Francis of Des Moines, Rex of Monroe and Rhalee of Colfax; and his mother, Mrs. Marie Lester of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Lester was a member of the Christian Church and the Jasper County Police Auxiliary. He had served as a city councilman and a member of the Colfax volunteer fire department.
Mr. Lester was a truck foreman for Van Dusseldorp and Sons.
The son of Charles and Marie Thompson Lester, he was born October 24, 1936, at Colfax and was a 1955 graduate of Colfax Community High School.
He was married to Myrtle Kloppenborg September 23, 1956, at Baxter.
Mr. Lester died Saturday following a traffic accident Thursday afternoon.
