Services Held
Services for Herbert Lambert were held Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. Rev. Mark L. Wilcoxson officiated the services.
Military services were held by the Monroe American Legion Post at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Mr. Lambert passed away on Monday, July 2, 2001, at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital.
Memorials to the Monroe Rescue Unit or American Diabetes Foundation have been suggested by the family.
The son of Ona and Eva (Richard) Lambert, Herbert Lambert was born April 17, 1918, in Browning, Missouri. In the summer of 1941 he was united in marriage with Lillian Dixon in Browning, Missouri. Herbert served in the United States Army with the Air Corp Infantry, 2nd Armored. For thirty years he worked for Maytag. Since 1950, they made their home in Monroe. Lillian passed away in 1981.
Herbert is survived by his son and his wife, Kenneth and Linda Lambert of Monroe; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter. He is also survived by three brothers: Walter Lambert of Kansas City, Missouri, LeRoy Lambert of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Carl Lambert of Florida; and a sister, Luetta Saltcider of Bucklin, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ona and Eva Lambert; his wife, Lillian Lambert; and a sister, Mary Spencer.
