Life Story of Virginia Elaine Lambert
Funeral services for Virginia Elaine Lambert, 22, of Des Moines, a former resident of Monroe, were held Monday at the Monroe United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Warren McFate, pastor of the church, and Elder Arthur Nichols, of the Monroe Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lambert of Monroe; two brothers, Mervin Gene Lambert and Herman Wayne Lambert, both of Crown Point, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Larry (Vivian Nadine) Brown of Bettendorf and Violet Allalie Lambert of Des Moines; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Charles Maxwell of Browning, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Maxwell, and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lambert.
Miss Lambert had been an employee of the Bell Telephone Co. in Des Moines.
The daughter of Ben Herman and Viola Inez Maxwell Lambert, she was born January 10, 1950, in Oskaloosa and was a 1968 graduate of New Monroe Community High School.
She died Saturday at the Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville following an automobile accident.
Miss Lambert was one of two young women who were victims of a one-car accident on a county road a mile east of Pleasantville Saturday.
The other victim was Doris Verwers, 18, of Des Moines.
