Life Story of Nellie Kuiper

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Kuiper, 95, who passed away February 13, were held February 15 at the Third Reformed Church in Pella.
The Rev. Wm. DeJong and the Rev. Ralph Vander Pol officiated.

She is survived by five sons, Ralph, Andrew, Gradus and Harry Kuiper, all of Pella, and Dick Kuiper of Otley; two sisters, Mrs. J. A. (Jose) Grandia and Mrs. M. C. (Anna) DeBruin; two brothers, Arie Klyn and Brooks Klyn, all of Pella; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Gerrit Kuiper, and a daughter, Gertrude, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kuiper was a long-time member of the Third Reformed Church in Pella and is a former resident of the rural Otley area. She had lived in Pella many years.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 15 at the Third Reformed Church here for Mrs. Nellie Kuiper, 95, who died Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the Pella Community Hospital. Rev. William De Jong and Rev. Ralph Vander Pol officiated with funeral arrangements directed by the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery here.

Mrs. Kuiper, the wife of the late Gerrit R. Kuiper and a life-long resident of the Pella area, was born Feb. 5, 1878 on a farm near here to Adianus and Dirkje (Boland) Klyn. She married Gerrit Kuiper on Feb. 22, 1899.

She is survived by five sons, Ralph, Andrew, Gradus and Harry, all of Pella, and Dick of Otley, two sisters, Mrs. John A. (Jose) Grandia and Mrs. M.C. (Anna) De Bruin, both of Pella, two brothers, Arie and Brooks Klyn, both of Pella, 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Gertrude, her husband, a brother, Henry Klyn, four sisters. Minnie De Winter, Dena Vander Wilt, Hattie Owens and Hendrieka Klyn, and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Kuiper was a long time member of the Third Reformed Church here.
