Life Story of Mrs. Ethel Koons
Ethel Acklin Koons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Acklin, was born at Monroe May 8, 1896 and passed away Saturday, May 20 at Newton.
She spent the greater part of her life in Monroe and Newton. She attended the Monroe School and was a member of the Methodist Sunday School.
She was married to Orville Koons in 1915 and to this union two sons were born, George of Shawano, Wisc. And Gene of Moravia, Liberia, West Africa. She is survived by these two sons and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Dave and Ben.
Funeral services were held at the Crumpacker Funeral home Wednesday morning, May 24, with Rev. James V. Poulsen officiating. Burial was in the Gifford Cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Timmins, Con Garland, Jerry Munson, Orville Kaldenberg, Raymond Rickabaugh, and Wilbur Van Zomeren. Instrumental music was provided by Mrs. William Lewis.
