Life Story of Mrs. Lewis W. Kool
Mrs. Lewis W. (Laurena Jeanette) Kool passed away at her residence in Prairie City November 5 at the age of 70 years, two months and 13 days.
Born August 22, 1901, at Pella, she was the daughter of William and Willemina DeGeus Gosselink. Mrs. Kool lived most of her lifetime in Marion and Jasper Counties.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Virginia) Williams of Prairie City; and four grandchildren, Raymond Williams, Jerold Williams and Mrs. Mark Guy, all of Prairie City, and Mrs. Douglas Thomas of Colfax; and seven great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Kool was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis, who passed away April 25, 1970; and two brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kool were held November 8 at the Garden Chapel, Pella, with Rev. Leonard Root, pastor of the Prairie City United Methodist Church, officiating.
Special organ selections played by the organist, Mrs. Roger Phadenhauer, were “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Does Jesus Care.”
Casket bearers were Raymond Williams, Jerold Williams, Douglas Thomas, Mark Guy, Gene Kaldenberg, and Ronald Goecke.
Interment was made in the Waveland Cemetery of Prairie City.
