Life Story of Lewis W. Kool
Lewis W. Kool, 70, of Prairie City, longtime resident of the Prairie City and Monroe communities, died Saturday at the General Hospital in Des Moines.
The Rev. B. D. Hindgardner, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, south of Prairie City officiated at the services Tuesday with burial in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Surviving are his widow, Laurena; a daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Virginia) Williams of Prairie City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Abram of Monroe, and Dan, William and Laurel, all of Newton; and three sisters, Mrs. H. C. (Marguerite) Young of Monroe, Mrs. C. E. (Dorothy) Vogelaar of Montrose, Colo. and Mrs. Ashley (Marie) Canfield of Washington State.
He was born March 2, 1900 on a farm near Pella.
Mr. Kool was married to Laurena Gosselink of Pella
