Funeral Services Held for Former Monroe Resident
Monroe (Special) – Funeral services for Lane C. Kommer, 71, father of Mrs. Vienus Van Sant and brother of Pete Kommer, both of Newton, were held today at the Van Dyk-Duven funeral home in Pella.
The Rev. Anthony Havercamp, pastor of the First Reformed church of Pella, officiated at the services and burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
Born in The Netherlands, Mr. Kommer came to the United States in 1906, settling in Monroe.
He spent his entire life in the Monroe and Pella communities, residing for the past few years in Pella.
He died Friday at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines.
Mr. Kommer is survived by his wife, a son, Arie Kommer, of Pella, two brothers in Holland and two sisters.
