Rites Held For Raymond Koder
Raymond F. Koder, 84, a longtime resident of Reasnor, died Monday morning at Skiff Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Johnson-Reese Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Gatrelle, pastor of the Reasnor United Methodist Church, conducting the services. Burial was in the Palo Alto cemetery south of Newton.
Survivors are his wife, Ethel, three daughters, Mrs. Cliff (Irene) Wheeler of Newton, Mrs. Edith Wood of Monroe and Mrs. Bill (Dorothy) Glascock of Des Moines; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving are a brother, John of Newton; and four sisters, Mrs. John Gorman, Mrs. Stanley Struntz and Mrs. J. E. McColloch, all of Bellevue, Neb., and Mrs. George Robinson of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Mrs. Judy Wheeler Bump; two brothers, George and Fred; and two sisters, Mrs. John (Kate) Chaplin and Mrs. Art (Marie) Bohnsack.
Mr. Koder was a self employed carpenter.
The son of Henry and Nancy Rough Koder, he was born Sept. 27, 1890 at Dunreath and was educated in the Monroe community.
He was married to Ethel Decker March 17, 1913 at Newton.
