Services Held
Services for Mary C. Konek, 57, of Marshalltown, were held Monday at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Private burial will be at a later date. Mary passed away Friday, February 11, 2000, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of cancer.
Mrs. Konek was born in Spring Valley, Illinois, and had lived in Ames before moving to Marshalltown in 1991. She was a homemaker, an X-ray technician in Spring Valley and had worked at J. C. Penney in Ames. She was a member of Lincoln Valley Golf in State Center and St. Thomas Acquinas Catholic Church in Ames.
Surviving are her husband, Bernie; a son, Kurt of Monroe; a daughter, Amy Morales of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Patsy Watson of Spring Valley; and a brother, Paul Pawlak of Carthage, Illinois.
