Life Story of Hubert Koder
Hubert (Buck) Koder, 65, of Pella, a former resident of Jasper County, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 28, at the Pella Community hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella with the Rev. Richard A. DeJong, officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Survivors are his wife, Inez; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Beverly) Kain of Pella; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Koder of Newton; a brother, Elvin of Prairie City; and two sisters, Mrs. Lawson (Margaret) Bailey of Monroe and Mrs. Lowell (Marie) Perry of Fairfield Bay, Ark.
Mr. Koder, who served in the armed forces from 1943 until 1945, was employed as an independent trucker and a trucker for the Pella Construction.
The son of John and Ida Stine Koder, he was born March 19, 1909, near Otley and attended Jasper County schools.
He was married to Inez Buwalda February 23, 1935 at Monroe. Mr. Koder resided near Pella until moving into Pella in 1950.
