Services Held
Funeral services for Norman D. Klein, 37, of rural Reasnor, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Newton.
Mr. Klein died of cancer Wednesday, August 19, 1992, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.
The Rev. Syd McCrorey, pastor of the church, officiated with burial at St. Andrews Cemetery in rural Sully.
Memorials to First Baptist Church, Newton Church of God, Lynnville Church of God or memorials in his name may be left at the Wallace-Pence Funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Gelene, of rural Reasnor; one son, Garrison, at home; one daughter, Hannah, at home; two sisters, Beverly (Mrs. Larry) Peckous of Charlotte, N.C., and Donna Klein of Tulsa, Okla.; his parents Earl and Lola Klein of rural Newton and grandmothers, Enid Klein of rural Newton and Henrietta Jansen of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.
He was born July 31, 1955, in Oskaloosa, and is a graduate of Lynnville-Sully High School and attended Iowa State University.
He was a member of the Newton First Baptist Church, board of directors of the Sully Co-op and the Jasper County Farm Bureau and was employed as a farmer.
He married Gelene Veldhuizen Aug. 12, 1977, at the First Reformed Church in Sully.
